BackgroundThe product itself uses a wide variety of widgets and icons to represent various states of the monitored virtualized environment.
The report that is subsequently generated can be hundreds of pages long if the environment is large, as VM could warrant its own report if the admin wishes, and there can easily be over 10,000 VMs in an environment. It is crucial that the reports are consistently structured and contain enough information to effectively search. |
Testing and DeliverablesUsing Treejack we were able to conduct some very quick studies based on our existing IA and quickly test to see if there are any points of confusion that could be improved upon. Because these reports are customizable, we have a flexible order different modules will appear, and that can be changed if the user wishes.
After figuring out the way the sections should be structured, we shared different versions of the report through quick polls to see which ones would get higher ratings. This allowed us to optimize the content under each header to be in line with what most users expect from a generated report. |
