Portfolio Planning Tools

Project: Internal Enterprise Web App
Role: Design Lead (team of 4)
Time: ~1 Year
Work: Lead design effort on the product team, full-stack designer from research to feature shipping

Results:
  • Planned and implemented several DesignOps initiatives for better documentation and work planning across the design team
  • Researched, designed, tested and shipped a major feature in the first year and received an internal recognition award for my contribution to the success of an important company-wide initiative

KACE Cloud MDM

Project: Unified Endpoints Management (UEM) Web App
​Role: Lead Interaction Designer
Time: ~2 years
Work: Feature research, requirements gathering, solutions design, iterative prototype cycles, shipping product

​​Results:
  • Project MVP was designed and built on-schedule at the end of the first year
  • The product features the most robust search design and system in the MDM market
  • Appeared on Gartner’s industry Magic Quadrant in launch year
  • Still-growing roster of paid corporate subscriptions generating net new ARR

​Adblock Revenue Recovery

Project: B2B Enterprise Analytics Web App
Role: UX Designer (contract)
Time: ~1 Year
Work: Vision concept, high fidelity mockups, feature shipping

Results:
  • Designed and worked with developers to ship multiple new user-requested features including dashboards, advanced user settings and permissions, reporting, CRUD tables and adblock specific workflows​

This B2B project is covered by an NDA so I cannot disclose details in a public case study

​Machine Learning Quality Control

Project: Screen and Touch Web/OnPrem App (with Proprietary Hardware)
Role: UX Designer (contract)
Time: ~1 Year
Work: Vision concept, iterative designs, concept validation

Results:
  • Worked with diverse product teams to turn abstract ideas into proof of concept designs
  • Validated theories with iterative prototyping to advance and focus R&D efforts on the right technologies to meet user needs​

This B2B app has not shipped yet therefore I cannot disclose details in a public case study. The goal of this project is focused on developing the right technologies (not on UI) as the end product will likely be a proprietary AI model.  

Property Assessment App

Project: Internal Database Web/Mobile App
Role: UX Designer (contract) 
Time: 7 Months
Work: Process audit, vision concept, flow mapping, wireframes, hi-fi prototyping

Results:
  • High-fidelity prototypes were presented to key business stakeholders, resulting in additional project funding and support 
  • Vision concept being used as guide for further in-house design and development

This is a proprietary government internal tool and therefore I cannot disclose details in a public case study

Internal Investment Modelling

Project: Proprietary Finance Intranet App
Role: Senior UX Designer 
Time: ~1 Year
Work: Process audit, flow mapping, process optimization, hi-fi prototyping, shipping features

Results:
  • Mapped out complex financial processes with many users, touchpoints and data sources to identify areas of optimization
  • Designed, tested and worked with developers to build out tools to automate flows while still maintaining high degrees of easily-auditable human input 
  • Tool is being used to model and process over a billion dollars of investments in the alternatives portfolio

HiMama

Project: Childcare Mobile/Web App
Role: UX Designer (contract)
Time: ~2.5 Years
Work: Flow audit, solutions design, visual design, feature shipping, evaluation cycle

​Results:​
  • Highest rated childcare app in North America with 4.9 stars in the iOS app store (35,000+ reviews!)
  • Active user count increased by 6-digits during my time as the sole UX designer
  • Produced deliverables that helped the company win national contracts and receive several more rounds of funding (7.25M Series A in 2019)

​Dell Foglight for Virtualization

Project: DevOps and IT Enterprise Web App
Role: UX Designer
Time: 12 Months
Work: User journey mapping, requirements gathering, solutions design, feature shipping, continuous evaluation cycle

Results:
  • Helped establish the design and user research process within the Toronto office
  • Updated interfaces with new features and optimized existing elements for more efficient flow
  • Introduced a redesign concept for new features based on customer concerns, research and cycles of user testing​
